Foundation for the Support of Women’s Work (FSWW), established in 1986, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. It aims to support low income women groups to improve the quality of their lives and their communities through their leadership.
KEDV was working with hundreds of women with 78 women's cooperatives in 10 provinces affected by the earthquakes (Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, Hatay, Adana, Malatya, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman, Osmaniye, Mardin), guesthouses and women-child centers in Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa and Mardin.
Women had to face the pain of their relatives lost in the earthquake, their homes and jobs they lost, and the uncertainty brought about by so much destruction. Women and children are most affected by disasters and crises. More than ever, we need solidarity so that women can meet their immediate basic needs and rebuild life afterwards .
KEDV team reached the region to determine the needs in the regions and to support search and rescue. We do our best to provide food, clothing, search and rescue and emergency needs. However, we know that after the search and rescue and the first emergency needs are over, the women affected by the disaster will need regular support to rebuild their lives. First of all, we will work to provide healthy housing conditions, to ensure that they can reach their basic needs on a regular basis, and then to reach the income they need.
We need you to strengthen this solidarity in the process of getting through these days together and building the future together, which will last for months.
Solidarity will strengthen us and give us hope!
